And just like that it’s almost Autumn. What feels like the longest year of our lives is already in its adolescents and I am totally unprepared for it. As much as I’d love 2020 to be over, it feels like we’ve spent a year in a waiting room. Anxious to move forward without knowing the future and sad to leave behind the lives we had before masks and unrestricted travel. I hate waiting, but I also know there is a lot of growth in down time and reflection.
Having spent more time at home than ever, many of us are finding that our homes have a profound impact on how we deal with stress and anxiety. While spending most of my life (awake) at work (an extremely depressing thought if I’m being honest) my home is my refuge. I love coming home and finding a peaceful serenity after a busy day at work.
Making my home ready for Fall is one of my favorite things to do. With changing season there always comes the strong desire to change things up at my house. This year, I wanted to create the perfect fall oasis by channeling those moody autumn vibes.
My latest obsession- Tartan & Welsh wool blankets. Warm, durable, and made from eco friendly fabric these the perfect addition to your home for the Fall. This one is made from recycled wool
The number one thing that makes a home instantly cozy is candles. You probably don’t need any convincing that candles are the perfect addition to your home, but if you’re looking for a new scent this anthropologie candle is a tried and true favorite. It makes the perfect gift for a new homeowner.
Books & Texture
An appropriate amount of clutter always gives me Harry Potter Weasley, School Room, Vintage vibes that I am all for. This book is one of my favorites and a constant go to for inspired home looks. Adding texture through books, textiles, and artwork can create a warm cozy feeling within your home. To make it extra cozy stick to warm tones of white, gold, and yellow.
