Spring shopping provides a new opportunity to reinvent your style. This month, I decided to put together some of my latest finds in one location for you to find just what your spring wardrobe needs. Like many of you, I decided to “kondo” my closet and get rid of a lot of the unnecessary and older items that were taking up space in my closet. As I’ve gotten older, my style of shopping has change and rather than filling my closet with lots of inexpensive clothes that last for only a season, I now shop with more intention. I buy clothing that last and focus on a more curated adult style. out.

I think spring makes all of us have a new take on life. The winter comes to an end and our interest in life outside of our thick coats and bowls of soup begin to take sprout. We start to get outside, stretch our mental legs and begin to pick up new hobbies. One of mine, is finding new books to help stretch my view of the world. Continue ReadingSkincare Fasting: Why Giving Your Skin A Break Matters
Let’s face it, “How to get good skin?” must be one of googles top searches! Our skin causes endless amounts of stress whether you’re 14 or 40 and the startling fact is skin care is not cheap! On average, the American woman will spend nearly a quarter of a million dollars on skin care in her lifetime. And while a lot of it might be out of vanity, the truth is, taking care of our skin is vitally important to our overall health. – as my mother always says “your skin is our first line of defense against disease and bacteria.” So spending the money to take care of it doesn’t seem like such a waste when we consider the hard work skin does to protect us. But what if spending all that money on skin products actually begins to effect our overall skin balance?

My $7 Awakening
This whole article began several weeks ago whilst meandering the floors of my local mall. Do you ever come across a piece and see 15 different outfits? I decided to take a gander at Dillard’s ever growing mammoth of sale jewelry. (side note- I would argue Dillard’s has THE single best unique mid level jewelry than anywhere else.) While pillaging through the hoards of jewelry I came across the earrings I’d been looking for all my life. Disclaimer: I don’t wear a lot of patterns- though I wish I did. But I do love to create interest in other ways in my style choices. I love a good romantic floral pattern and these statement, Dog wood flower, gold earrings were exactly what I needed to subtly create a dramatic look.
To me they were the perfect combination of statement, eclectic, vintage style I had been looking to find for a long time! They reminded me of jewelry I had read about in a book somewhere? or seen in an old movie…

Weekend Reads: My Goal to Read More
In an effort to better myself I committed myself to a year long journey of reading more. I like reading and don’t get me wrong I read a lot of blog posts, AD magazine (thanks to my husband), and WSJ (thanks to my father-in-law) but a year ago I found I was rarely reading through a whole book! I had gotten into a slump after college of making time for the wrong things like GOT binges and online shopping black holes. I no longer HAD to read for tests or research so why bother. But a the start of 2018, I turned a new leaf. It was time to start focusing on edifying myself. I picked up a book for the first time in a long time and began the quest of self betterment through reading.
2018 Fall Trends I’m loving
This Fall I feel like we are going very traditional. Lots of classic plaids, tweeds, and leather- all of which I LOVE. Some of my favorite street styles I’ve seen have been lots of pattern mixing, mix and matching animal prints, and bold rich colors. Here are some of my favorite pieces for all this Fall’s fashion trends!
