Hello and thanks for stopping by! Today, I decided to begin a blog series called Weekend in Review where I tell you about what I did over the weekend and some of my new favorite finds. Feel free to share your thoughts and some of your new finds that I should learn about.
1.Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat By Samin Nosrat
One of my new found favorite cook books. I love to read about cooking and this book has been an awesome resource to learn why things happen the way they do in food. Its got beautiful illustrations and puts scientific concepts into tangible and easy to understand definitions. I am about halfway through and I have to say I have already come back to this book as a reference about ten times while cooking. Definitely something worth getting and reading if you like to cook.
2. Chris Loves Julia – Blog
Have you ever had several people tell you about something several different times but never ever looked into it or tried it. First, my friend Claire told me about Chris Loves Julia, then my Husband, then Claire’s Husband Dave told me but it never clicked. I finally took a look at this weekend and I have to say, its pretty awesome. If you love home renovations and decorating then this is the website for you. They share about their experience, you can shop their home, and learn about DIY projects for your own home. I love it and I love their style.
3. Black Panther- Movie
I haven’t been to the movies in so long! We went to this movie this weekend to Black Panther and I loved it! I’m not a huge fan of super hero movies, but this movie surprised me. If I’m being honest, I thought it would be lame but I was blown away by how well done it was. The characters were complex and they did a great job at making you feel both angry and sad for villains and the heroes. If you haven’t seen this movie yet, you should go!
4. Friday’s with Flea Style- Podcast
This Podcast is so awesome! I have followed The Flea Style on Instagram for about a year now and I am continually blown away by how well they market themselves. Founded by Brittany Cobb in 2009, Flea Style is now operating a widely successful indoor flea market for vendors to sell handmade and vintage goods. Brittany also hosts an amazing podcast called Friday’s with Flea Style! The podcast explores small business and hosts lots of amazing start up companies selling new and exciting products. It quickly has become one of my favorites because who doesn’t love stories about people who took the risk to start something and it paid off! Definitely add it to your list of podcasts to try.
Thanks for Reading!
xoxo
